7 Cruelty-Free Lists || Lists That Make Cruelty-Free Beauty Shopping Easy

This will make shopping for cruelty free beauty so much easier.

Here are 7 Cruelty Free Lists!

They have a "Companies That Do Not Test on Animals" list and "Companies That Do Test on Animals" list.
The site is easy to navigate and you can search by name.
You can download the lists as a pdf file.

You can search for the company by name. You can look up company name alphabetically.
They offer a free app for iPhone and Android for free.

In addition to being an awesome beauty blog, Tashina contacts companies and keeps the list updated.
Companies that are vegan are clearly marked. Also there is a distinction between cruelty free companies that have a non-cruelty-free parent company.

The list includes companies that are PETA and LeapingBunny certified. Also, if there is a correspondence between the company on the list and Suzi (the author of Cruelty-Free Kitty).
The list is also kept updated. This is also a great beauty blog.

Here companies that have some vegan products and, or vegetarian products are labeled.
There is also a label for companies that meet cruelty-free criteria but "some products contain animal ingredients or killed insects." The list is kept updated.

This list categories beauty, drugstore, and household products. There is also a list of companies that sell in China, which as you know requires animal testing. I like the layout and I'm sure you will do. There is a lot of information that is easy to read and not overwhelming.

Here you will find a list for Sephora and Ulta specific brands. There are clear labels between vegan, Leaping Bunny certified, and parent company status. There is also helpful guides for going cruelty free.

I hope these resources help you out. I know I refer to them almost daily. Let me know if you know if any other lists.

ciatè || AWESOME FIND!

Hey guys.

I found these awesome ciatè nail polishes at Burlington yesterday and could not wait to share them with you all.
They are (mostly)  Fall colors, so if you're still trying to hold on to your Summer, LOOK AWAY!

This post is just going to be pictures. I've yet to wear them so I can't tell you how they apply or the wear time.

SIDE-NOTE: I know I've been gone for a while (looonnnng while), so forgive me for the lack of content. Let's just say this year has been a weird/crazy one. I've missed posting more than you can imagine!

That 'Big Beauty Bus' packaging though! How could I pass it up! Also, it was only $7.99! I can't promise you will find them at your Burlington, but if you like the colors take a look it can't hurt.

The tri-o was $5.99.

The 'Big Beauty Bus' set has mini-polishes. You can see the difference in size.

"HopScotch" looks more red on camera. It's very much a true orange.

"Party Shoes" makes me want to dance! AHH so gorgeous!

Let me know which one was your favorite? Also, what is your favorite ciatè nail-polish?

Lots of Love,
Camila

❤︎ Empties :: May 2015 || Cruelty-Free Beauty

Hey GUYS!

Today I really wanted to share a couple of empties I've had laying around. I really like all of these products but I wouldn't repurchase some of them.

1. Tree Hut: Shea Moisturizing BODY WASH :: Tropical Mango!

I LOVE this guy! It smells amazing and the scent lingers! It also does not dry your skin out! I haven't repurchased it just because I haven't been to Ulta in a while, but I definitely plan to. I highly recommented this line from Tree Hut. I've used the scrubs and love them! (Here are links to the Mango Scrub and Coconut Lime).

I got this in October's Petit Vout Box and really liked it. I wash my hair every other day and so my hair gets really dry and frizzy on the days I don't wash it. This products definitely gave it moisture and, though it doesn't claim to do so, helped with the frizz, a lot. I want to repurchase it again because I want use it more and see if I see long term results. (I got a sample size). However, if you are looking for a deep moisturizer this is not it. I still needed an oil to make my hair feel really soft and manageable

3. Earth Body | dream Body Oil

I got this guy in a Petit Vour Box, but I guess I didn't share it because I can't find it on my blog. It's an oil meant to "..enhance mental clarity and restore moisture". It's very moisturizing and smells great! I liked using it right before bed. It's on the pricey side, so if I repurchase it will be a splurge! I won't buy it right now, but as a birthday gift, I might just do so.

I really like the c. Booth Bath and Body Oil as a cheaper and just as good alternative!

LOVED IT!! What can I say. I dedicated an entire post to this guy! TRY IT!
It's a natural and cruelty free deodorant that works!

I was sent this and I also dedicated an entire blog post to it. I LOVED IT. It agreed with my skin so much. Most lotions work right away but the moisture will fade after a few washes and doesn't leave the skin feeling soft for more than a couple of hours. This didn't do that! LOVE IT!

I got this in a Petit Vour Box. I liked this, but I prefer the Beesential lotion for the body.  However, seeing at it's 100% vegan and natural I used it as a face moisturizer and liked it that way. I won't necessarily repurchase this again, but I will look into 100% Pure's facial moisturizers.

Lots of Love,
Camila

Beessential: A Three Product Review! Hand & Body Cream, Lavender & Honey, Lemon & Lavender Lip Balm (Cruelty-Free NOT Vegan (obvs.))

Hello guys!

I'm really excited to share these products with you all. However, I want to be honest and let you know that they were sent to me. Meaning, I did not pay for them, but I am not being paid to write this review. Also, they are not vegan.

Anyways, now that we got that out of the way...

**disclaimer: Links are NOT affiliates, they are there to help you find the product quickly.

When I first applied this lotion I REALLY liked it. However, seeing I had just received it in the mail and I was really excited, I didn't want to rush my opinion. In order to test this lotion properly I put it in my backpack (I'm usually at school 7-12ish a day) and have been carrying it with me for almost three weeks and its always by my side on my computer desk. I can tell you that I really LOVE this lotion. I think the honey especially agrees with my skin. It's not oily and will help you so much if you have chronically dry hands like me. I also use it on my legs, I have REALLY dry skin on my legs and sensitive skin (when I shave), this does not irritate my skin, rather calms it down.

I have the 100% Pure French Lavander Hand Buttercream, which I LOVE (great alternative) but not as much as I like this one.

It's formaldehyde free. paragon free, and PEG free.

6 fl. oz - $ 12.99

I have a few favorite lip balms and so I'm pretty picky about the ones I try. The girl who emailed me about doing this review, mentioned this lip balm in particular, as it has been voted by TopBeauty.com as the best lip balm. I have to be honest, when I think of beeswax lip balms, I'm NEVER a fan. I always find them hard to apply and not moisturizing at all. I have to say I really, really like this one. It's super moisturizing and goes on smoothly. It's not oily at all and will not give you a "clear-lipgloss" effect. If you like lip balms that aren't "wet" I'm sure you'll like this one.

0.15 oz - $2.99

3. Beessential: Lavender & Honey: Bee Calm & Carry On:

I'm such a sucker for soaps! I was super excited to try this one. I have to say from the stuff I received this is third on my list. I don't hate it but it didn't impress me as much as the products I already mentioned. Not that it's not good. It's definitely not drying, as in my opinion most bar soaps tend to be. As you use it you can see the honey in it. If you like honey (honey is GREAT for the skin) you will really like it. I say, give it a try. It might just be for you. It is good for acne prone skin. Did I see a huge difference? No. Nothing miraculous, it did make my skin feel nice though. I want to try the other soaps they make.

I hope you enjoyed this. I hope more than anything that you will give this brand a try. (If you're not vegan). They have SO many products! Search their site and see if you like anything! (Again, links are to help you find the products more quickly not affiliate links). Try the lotions! They have other scents!

Lots of Love,
Camila

❄︎ ❄︎ D e c e m b e r ❆ ❆ 2014 Petit Vour Box!

Hello guys!
I wanted to end the season right! Today we took down our Christmas decorations and our tree. It was sad! It might seem a bit late to be taking it down in January but it's something that's becoming a tradition in my family. I really wanted to share my December Petit Box because I thought it was an exceptionally good one (even if it's a bit late). I'm really LOVING my this box! It's always such a good surprise!

Side note: This is not a review! I do have a few comments!

***I wasn't send this!

1. Meow Meow Tweet: Deodorant Cream- Lavender
Oh man! Do I have a love hate relationship with natural deodorant! I have yet to try one that I like. I hate ever single one I've tried! (I'll save that for another blog post).
I have liked this one! It doesn't wear off easily. However, I haven't been working out or doing much activity so I haven't tested it's full staying power. (Sidetone: I need to start running again!!!!) I just don't like that you have to dip your finger in the jar to get the product out. I like the sent! It's nice and fresh. Even though I'm not a huge fan of lavender.

Full-Size is 2.4 oz and retail for $14.00.

2. EveryDay Minerals blush- "All Smiles"
I LOVE THIS! It's your basic peachy-pink blush and its matte. It's something I see myself wearing everyday. I want to share a look using it so you can see how it looks on.

Full Size $12.00!

3. blissoma Solutions:
This is suppose to target "blemishes and inflammation while balancing. Intensively regenerates skin..." It's meant for oily, acne, irritated and discolored skin.
I was really happy when I saw this! At the time I received this box (the week before Christmas) my skin was going berserk! I haven't used this enough to form an opinion. I will have to keep trying it. I really HATE the dropper applicator. It doesn't really pick up the product because the product is too thick.
Full Size: 1 oz for $25.99

 5.  Trust Fund Beauty- "Just Talk to My Lawyer"
This nail polish or "le vernix" is free of toluene, formaldehyde, lead, nickel, and phthalates.
On camera the red shimmer shows up more vibrant than in person. If you look at your nails directly under natural sunlight you will see all those beautiful golden shimmers clearly. Otherwise, it's more of a very dark (almost black) vampy color. I'm really enjoying it. It has great staying power. I haven't been using a top coat and it will last at least four days on me.

This is a full size product. It retails for $16.00. So just this product alone pays for the box, which is $15.00 a month. I really love that about this subscription box in particular, you are getting a great deal.

So yeah! That was my December 2014 Petit Vour Box. Again, I bought this with my money. I have loved every single box and I really encourage you give it a try. Remember these products are not only cruelty-free but also vegan.
Lots of Love,
Camila

LA Girl Animal Testing Inquiry || Are They CF?

***UPDATE: I pasted the wrong part of the email where they answered whether or not they sell in the Chinese market. Sorry about that!!! Ahhh! So frustrating!!

Hey guys! So as promised --finally-- here is my correspondence with LA Girl.

I have a correspondence with LA Colors and they are cruelty-free and accredited by PETA. I did not realize that LA Girl and LA Colors are essentially the same company. They are both under Beauty 21. Anyways I still wanted to share my correspondence with them!

I emailed them using the template I always use.

This was their reply:

Thank you for contacting L.A. Girl Cosmetics.
In regards to Animal Testing, please be certain that our products are NOT tested on animals. None of the raw materials or manufacturing process through finished goods are tested on animals. Our parent company, Beauty 21 Cosmetics Inc. is also part of the cruelty-free PETA program. Hope this helps! Thank you for writing to us.
Sincerely,

As you can tell they did not address whether they sell in the Chinese market. So I emailed them back:

Thank you very much! I really appreciate you writing back to me. I have another Question you didn't address. Does LA girl and or Beauty 21 sell in the Chinese market?

-Camila
They replied very promptly I think the next day; which was so awesome of them. I truly appreciated it.

Thank you for your response.

Our products are not sold in China and we want to assure you that none of the raw materials or manufacturing process through finished goods are tested on animals. Our parent company, Beauty 21 Cosmetics Inc. is also part of the cruelty-free PETA program.

Hope this helps. Thank you for writing to us!

Sincerely,
As you can see they meet the three criteria I look at for determining cruelty-free status. I was also really happy with their customer service!

I hope you found this helpful in your cruelty-free journey.

Lots of Love,
Camila

Disappointing Products : :

Hey guys!

Just because a product is cruelty-free or 'natural' does not mean it's good. Yes, cruelty-free brands that I really love sometimes come out with a dud product and sadly I've picked up a few of those duds.
I decided to share them with you so you don't waste your time. Granted, these aren't very expensive products but still why buy something that sucks?

Wet N' Wild megalast Nail Polish  ::  "A Venice Day"
I did a post of my favorite Summer Nail Polishes and all of them were from the Megalast line. When I saw this bright yellow I was so excited and had to have it!

As you can see below the color isn't as opaque as it appears in the bottle or as vibrant. That's exactly how it applies. To get a good look I had to use at least 3 coats if not more. Which took forever to dry!

I don't plan to toss it so I have been using a white nail polish as a base and then applying the yellow. I do like the look that gives. Still I don't want to work to make my nail polish look like it supposed to look! So yeah don't waste time!

Physicians Formula :: Glow & Mood Boosting Lipstick in ' I <3 Nude'
I got this lipstick with a Happy Booster bronzer and blush duo for like $3.99. Which is such a steal that I am glad I didn't pay full price for lipstick. I am beyond disappointed! (So dramatic! lol ).
In all seriousness I really hate this one.
In the picture below you can see that it got smudged! Which is really all my fault however it happened because the lid doesn't fit well! It's very loose and I used too much strength (Super Woman) and yikes...

The product itself is very melty and so streaky! (See Picture).

I can't imagine what would happen if I left this in my bag!

One good thing, it does have a nice scent! Reminds me of Clinque's "Happy" perfume.

Wet N' Wild :: Megaslicks Balm Stain in 'Lady and the Vamp'

I really wanted to like this one but I had to come to the conclusion that it's not very good. I love Wet N' Wild but somethings are better than others from their selection! It's not as pigmented as it appears when applied. It's soooo streaky! Also, it smells soo bad! Like legit poop!
Don't buy it!

Jordana :: BEST Lash EXTREME Volumizing Mascara

It's the clumpiest mascara ever! So hard to work with! Granted it's only like $5 but sometimes you get what you pay for! It is very black but other than that it's not worth the headache. I love Jordana but this one is a dud!

Flower Beauty :: Extreme Measures Lengthening Mascara

I actually reviewed this one and a week after I posed that review it dried out, completely! I only had it for about a month and a half I was so sad! It was around $8 bucks at WalMart and I was mad! I haven't tried too many things from Flower Beauty. I won't judge the other products based on this one mascara. Meanwhile, I want to still try the one in the green tube. I know mascara is only supposed to last about like two months, but still! :(

I really like the wand! Too bad!

I hope this was helpful & tell me if you've tried any of these products! I would like to hear (read) your experiences!

Lots of Love,

Camila
