4 Under $10 Cruelty Free Foundations ||

Foundation is relatively expensive even at the drug store. If you are looking for cruelty free foundations at the drug store, it can get pricey. I wanted to share some of my favorite drug store foundations that are under $10.

This list is in no particular order.

1. elf Acne Fighting Foundation
I use the shade 'Buff' (mostly). It gives you build-able coverage and has tea tree oil that that helps keep acne at bay. (Some skin types that find tea tree drying will not enjoy this).
My skin is normal, except during Winter/Fall when it is dry.
I've been using this one the most (as you can see). One con is the color selection. During Summer I need to mix 'Buff' and 'Sand' because 'Buff' is wayyy too light.

 2. Milani Conceal + Perfect 2-in-1 Foundation + Conceal
This foundation is new to me, but damn I am impressed. It gives a beautiful look to my skin. It keeps the vibrancy of my skin while covering up the imperfections. I like light to medium coverage and this foundation has more coverage than the other three, so one layer was enough for me. It claims to be a concealer and foundation in one and as someone who doesn't have much to cover I can't say much on that claim. Also, the color match is GREAT!

3. elf Flawless Finish Foundation SPF 15
I've been using this foundation for years. I use it in 'sand'. (This foundation's shade in 'sand' is lighter than the elf acne foundation shade in 'sand'). It is a great everyday foundation. It is great for normal to dry skin. It has light to medium coverage. It is not great for covering acne or any texture. It has SPF and works best for lightweight makeup. It is does give you a flawless and natural

4. Wet N Wild photofocus Foundation
This foundation is suppose to be good for flash photography. Based on that claim, I thought it was going to be relatively thick. It has a thin consistency but has impressive coverage. It is definitely build-able. I have it in the shade 'golden beige'.  It makes my skin look beautiful and natural. I was shocked by it. I really prefer a natural finish and so it is becoming a favorite.

The prices below are from the Walmart website. It is the cheapest place to find these foundations.

Disclaimer: This blog post is not sponsored. I bought these with my money.

I hope you found this helpful. Let me know any comments and your favorite drugstore foundation.

Camila

7 Cruelty-Free Lists || Lists That Make Cruelty-Free Beauty Shopping Easy

This will make shopping for cruelty free beauty so much easier.

Here are 7 Cruelty Free Lists!

They have a "Companies That Do Not Test on Animals" list and "Companies That Do Test on Animals" list.
The site is easy to navigate and you can search by name.
You can download the lists as a pdf file.

You can search for the company by name. You can look up company name alphabetically.
They offer a free app for iPhone and Android for free.

In addition to being an awesome beauty blog, Tashina contacts companies and keeps the list updated.
Companies that are vegan are clearly marked. Also there is a distinction between cruelty free companies that have a non-cruelty-free parent company.

The list includes companies that are PETA and LeapingBunny certified. Also, if there is a correspondence between the company on the list and Suzi (the author of Cruelty-Free Kitty).
The list is also kept updated. This is also a great beauty blog.

Here companies that have some vegan products and, or vegetarian products are labeled.
There is also a label for companies that meet cruelty-free criteria but "some products contain animal ingredients or killed insects." The list is kept updated.

This list categories beauty, drugstore, and household products. There is also a list of companies that sell in China, which as you know requires animal testing. I like the layout and I'm sure you will do. There is a lot of information that is easy to read and not overwhelming.

Here you will find a list for Sephora and Ulta specific brands. There are clear labels between vegan, Leaping Bunny certified, and parent company status. There is also helpful guides for going cruelty free.

I hope these resources help you out. I know I refer to them almost daily. Let me know if you know if any other lists.

12 eyeshadow "Hot Pots" for $1.95 each || Create Your Own Affordable Makeup Palette

Disclaimer: Not sponsored .

I love these warm tones! Can I just say! Even before they became trendy. I came across these Coastal scents Hot Pots, after Googling reviews for the Anastasia Beverly Hills Modern Renaissance palette. I love those orange and berry shadows.  However, I really didn't want to pay 50ish dollars. Also, I looked for it inUlta, Sephora, Macy's, JC Penny, any retail store that sells makeup and could not find it.

Each Hot Pot was $1.95. The palette is sold separately and it was $5.95. This palette does not have a mirror but they do sell ones with a mirror. They have sooooo many Hot Pots. I mean you can spend an entire day looking through all the Hot Pots and creating your dream palette or multiple palettes.

I find the quality comparable to my Too Faced Chocolate Palette. The mattes are especially comparable. The swatches are brush swatches and I noticed fall out with when swatching on my arm. However, when I blend out my crease I hadn't noticed that. I found it weird because I've never had that issue on my eyes.  They are easy to blend.

I want to share my favorite shadows from the palette and my least favorite. I bought them online and the only reference was a picture and so I didn't know to what they would look like.

In order from favorite to least favorite:

1. Pumpkin Pie
2. Barista
3. Petal Peach
4. Pomegranate Red
5. Paprika
6. Deep Roast
7. Caramelized
8. Raisin Berry
9. Amber Bronze
10. Chocolate Berry
11. Caramel Ice*
12. Deep Cantaloupe*

I wanted to mention that the reason I don't love (I still do like it and use) "Caramel Ice" is that it is a pinky cool-toned shimmer. I prefer golden shimmers. However, I do like it.

I don't love (I still do like it and use)"Deep Cantaloupe" because I expected it to be more vibrant. If you want the vibrant orange, almost neon look, you need a base. (I like using LaLa by ColourPop).

The palette is small and thin. I can almost grab it like my iPhone 7 plus.

Here I wanted to show that I added a bit of Alchemy by ColourPop. It is a great shadow that depending on the eyeshadow underneath it will give a different affect.

I hope you enjoyed this post and give this Hot Pots a try!

❤︎ What's on my Lips || Fall Lippies ❤︎

Hey guys!

Arrrrgg guys, I’m so DONE with Summer. I don’t know about the climate where you live, but where I live it is freakish hot! It can up to 100 F. A few years ago, I remember it got up to 113 F. Even though the last day of Summer is technically the 22nd, where I live we are still looking at one more month of heat. Crossing my fingers it’s less than that.

So I’ve been using my makeup (as you do) to keep calm and to channel Fall. We did have a bit of rain last week, fingers crossed that happens again. In the Fall spirit, I’d like to share some of my favorite lippie picks for the Fall. There might be a part two, I realized I have some other lippies I also wanted to talk about. I didn’t include them here because they are very similar in tone. Let me know if you’d like to see it.

Note: The flash changed the tone of the lipsticks a tiny bit. It made them look brighter than they are. For the best color reference see the swatches below. Also, not sponsored. Yes, I bought them all! haha!

1.       Colourpop’s Ultra Matte Lippie in ‘Avenue’
This is the matt(est) matte formula I’ve ever used. Therefore, it’s dryyy! So lather that lip balm! I find application is a bit tricky, so I use a lip liner. In the picture you can see the application is not perfect, because I didn’t use a lip-liner. Also, be sure to let each layer dry before you apply the next. I find
more than two layers of this formula can look splotchy.

2.       Colourpop’s Ultra Matte Lippie in ‘Bumble’
I find myself using this colour on the daily. It’s trendy because it’s that  brownie-mauve color. Meanwhile, I've always been a big fan of brownie-colors and so this is my go to ‘nude’. It’s the same formula as ‘Avenue’ and very build-able. I wore it a bit softer in the picture. I also like wearing it more opaque. I can get away with more layers of this color than ‘Avenue’.

3.       Elf Moisturizing Lipstick in ‘Red Carpet’
This lippie is a hot-red with orange undertones. It’s more red than orange. The flash makes it look more orange than it is. It’s a creamy finish. I usually blot it on a napkin because I prefer a matte look, but I like the option to go glossier. Super comfortable and undeniably gorgeous!

4.       Wet N Wild’s Mega Last Lipstick in 'Cherry Picking'
This color is a raspberry-red color. It might look glossy in the picture because I was using a lip balm but it has a true matte formula. Also, it's much darker than the picture of me wearing it shows (reference the swatch picture for a more accurate representation). It's super gorgeous but requires the whitest teeth! Haha! It's very opaque. This is my favorite matte formula, yet it's a bit drying but nothing too uncomfortable. Overall a most unique and pretty red.

5. elf Matte Lip Color in 'Praline'
I love my brownie nudes! While I do enjoy wearing Praline on its own, more often I use it as a lip liner. It compliments most of my brownie-colors.

However, when I do want to wear it on its own, it takes the show! I really love it! The formula is super comfortable and the friendliest matte I know! ;)

6. elf Matte Lip Color in 'Berry Sorbet'
In tone it's similar to 'Cherry Picking'. It's more purple whereas 'Cherry Picking' is more pink. Super comfortable formula. It's still matte, but not as matte as the Colourpop Ultra Mattes. I love the pencil style application. The color is still bright, yet "Fall appropriate" (if you will). Seriously if you haven't given the elf lippies a try, you are missing out! If you aren't feeling 'Berry Sorbet', check out their color selection! #notsponsored

7.Wet N Wild's Silk Finish Lipstick in 'Black Orchid'
This lipstick was a hit a couple of years back when vampy lips were super in (they never went away in my book). It's crazy opaque but build-able. You can go sheer or dark. It's got a silky (imagine that) finish but if you prefer a matte finish just bloat it lightly with a napkin. It's my purplest and darkest lipstick and as you can tell, I use it a lot.

Hope you enjoyed this blog post! It was lots of fun! Who knew swatching a bunch of lippies could be so fun! I did! hahah! What are you loving now and what are you excited to wear this Fall!?
Lots of Love,
Camila

August Favorites || a.m. Friendly Products

Hey guys!

This past month has been really exciting, I got to enjoy the last three weeks of my summer break (no work)! It was so much fun! I went to the beach and a theme park called Knotts Berry Farm in Buena Park, CA.

However, after all that fun I started school again! Which is both exciting and stressful. Now that I started school I wake up around ~5:30 am. (At least I try)! I have to be out the door by 6:30 am, so I need easy to use products. This month, I will share with you the products that have saved me a bunch of time.

**Links are either to past blog post or links to products. They are not affiliate links. This blog post is not sponsored, I bought all these with my money. Opinions are genuine and my own.

I have been using these shadows every day! Depending on my mood I use Colourpop's 'La La', elf's 'Brownie Points' or elf's 'Cruising' Chic'.

I don't need a primer or a brush. I use my finger and blend them out. They are absolutely gorgeous and will not crease and last all day. (I'm at school for at least 10 hours at least three times a week).

'La La' is the PERFECT rose gold. 'Brownie Points' is a gorgeous dark bronze. 'Cruisin' Chic' is an everyday taupe. (It looks silvery in the swatch, but it's definitely a taupe).

These work perfectly for me as I LOVEE my neutrals.

I have been using both these brow products interchangeably. Either Wet N' Wild's Ultimate Brow Kit in 'Ash Brown' or elf's Essential Instant Brow Pencil in 'Neutral Brown'.

I can use either or but I prefer using them together. On most days I will grab for the brow pencil because it's super quick to use. On days when I have more time I use both.

Both match my hair well. I will say the 'Neutral Brown' is tiny bit lighter than I like, but I can build it up.

The tip on this brow pencil is not as small as the Anastasia pencil, but it works for me as my browns just need to be filled in.

Bh Cosmetics 'Wild and Radiant' Baked Illuminating & Bronzing Palette is just so gorgeous. When I have more time to play I use these shadows. I do prefer using the shadows over an eyeshadow base or wet. They don't show up to their full potential dry (at least that's my opinion).

Meet Matt(e) Nude by the Balm has been a staple for a long time. However, I always use it in combination with a shimmer/metallic/glitter eyeshadow palette. I am not a big fan of matte shadows on their own. If you need a palette with only mattes I HIGHLY recommend you check this one out.

I hope you enjoyed this post. What have you been loving? Let me know!

BH Cosmetics Haul || Eyeshadows, Blushes, Brushes and More :: Cruelty-Free

Hey guys. I wanted to share this big haul! Before I share the pictures, just know this is a haul and mini-first-impression(s). I only got my order in yesterday.

Also, I know this might seem sponsored because it's all BH Cosmetics, but it's not. (I wish it was, hey BH work with me!) No, it's definitely not. I just really wanted to try BH Cosmetics as I literally didn't own anything from them.

Hope you enjoy it!

You can use these shadows on the face, eyes, and body. Also wet or dry.

I did wear three of the shades today and I am impressed. I love these golden-champagne tones!

Two left swatches correspond to the two upper shadows.
Two right swatches correspond to the two lower shadows.

I have worn this one and I really, really liked it! I thought it was going to be a bit on the cool-er side(the blush at least), but it's surprisingly warm. The highlight has more yellow than pink undertones. I can see it working well on both fair and medium skin tones.

One thing I noticed (upon swatching) the blush shade is a bit chalky. However, on the skin it's lovely and the powder is silky smooth.

The powder is super silky! The color is definitely more coral than pink. Not at all chalky.

The "highlight" shade is GORGEOUS! It's more of a blush and highlight in one. It's very orange, but I can see it warming up the skin, while giving a 'J-Lo glow'!

Direct Sunlight
Two left swatches are from TULIP.
Two right swatches are from DAISY.

Upper: TULIP
Lower: DAISY

I used a coupon-code from RetailMeNot (be sure to check this site out, not sponsored) and got two free surprises. This is one.

The color is 'Rendezous'. I am not a big fan. It's very beige and frosted. I might use it for a center highlight on the lips.

This is another free gift I got using the code.

It was $2.50 at the time I bought it. I have it used it (once) so far so good. The only con it's only 2.7fl oz, which seems small to me. I guess it's a good size to try out, before you buy a bigger size. I think I'm going to go through it quickly.

If you want, I can do a separate post with an in depth review on these guys. I really wanted more face brushes, so I went with these. Fingers crossed they're good.

So far they are SOO soft!

P.S. I got the 11 pcs Pink-A-Dot Brush Set for my sister. This past Christmas and she loves them.

I have been eyeing this EVERY single time I went on the BH site. I think they are so beautiful and so I finally did it, I finally bought them. They are so super soft as well. I will also be reviewing this set in individually (if you are interested please let me know).

Plus, I love the container they come in. So cute to display them in.

I really hope you enjoyed this post. If you're anything like me, I hope you enjoyed the pictures. Might sound funny, but I LOVE looking at pictures of makeup. It's a guilty pleasure of mine.

I do plan on reviewing them and showing the blushes and shadows on my eyes. So stay tuned.
Lots of Love,
Camila
