  2. Hi Camila,

I just wanted to say "THANK YOU SO MUCH" for all your effort. Sometimes I found it hard to resist the hyped brands you can find via YouTube tutorials, magazines and Blogs. But I can't excuse that animals have to suffer just that I am looking good. And with your help I found so much alternative beauty brands. The beauty-world needs much more people like you.

    All the best
    Julia

  3. Hi there!
I just stumbled upon your blog and I have to say I am so very impressed. I greatly appreciate your efforts. In addition, your transparency (I love that you post your e-mail correspondence) and your seemingly thorough detective work is admirable. I was actually doing internet searches for companies that refrain from the use of palm oil in their products (You obviously hold the welfare of animals in high regard, therefore I'm sure you're already aware of the negative impact the palm oil industry has had on animals, especially the orangutans). I happened to find your blog and since animal testing is on my list of factors that influences my decision to purchase products, I found it to be an extremely valuable resource that I will bookmark and use in the future.
I'm not sure if you've thought about expanding your blog to include companies that use palm oil in their products (I understand that using an ingredient and subsequently causing inadvertent animal suffering is quite different from suffering via animal testing), however, I would find that to be a wonderful and highly valuable addition to your already kick-ass blog--so, just thought I would share.
As many have already said, you're doing great work, so thank you again!
    Best - Meghan

    1. Hey Meghan.
To be quite honest as of now I was not aware (at least not 100% ) of the effect the palm oil industry has had on orangutans. That will be changing though, I don't like the idea of animals suffering whether it be through testing, maltreatment, anything! I will research it and will def. push it more on my blog. Thank you for your kind words! I appreciate it more than you can know :D

  4. You have Sonia Kashuk listed under both lists. I know for a fact Elf is cruelty free but don't kno the parent co...I don't see it listed at all tho. This is an extremely difficult list to track tho and quite similar to what they do at LB bc I don't think they allow the parent company testing either. Peta's list is much longer and includes UD etc so I believe they do include those companies. It's hard to track and hard to live by but worth it. Thanks for your efforts.

  5. Hi,

Happy I found your page :) It's so tough finding companies that are 100% cruelty-free, so your list really helps. Unfortunately it isn't longer though...

I wanted to add that Origins' (heavily marketed as cruelty-free) parent company is in fact Estee lauder.

And I just bought a few new Urban Decay products based on the fact that Peta has given them their seal of approval, so it sucks learning they've been bought by L'oreal. L'oreal does a good job sugar coating the fact that some animal testing is still done here http://answers.loreal.com/animaltesting/en/our_position/. I'll be taking back my Urban Decay products tomorrow. I guess it's just Tarte from here on out. Fingers crossed they don't cave in as well and let one of the big companies take over.

Have you heard anything about Boscia skincare? They're PETA approved and I really like their products. Also, maybe check out this page http://www.paulaschoice.com/who-we-are/about-paulas-choice/#Testing.

    Thanks!

  6. Hello! I'm just making the switch to cruelty free brands and I really appreciate this blog. At first I assumed that you can simply look at the back of the packaging to see if they test on animals or not. But it was overwhelming to find all the loopholes that get used. Trying to navigate your way around those to figure out whether or not a company is truly cruelty free seemed like a daunting task. You've made it much easier to make the switch! And included brands that I know and love. God bless ! :)

  7. Hi Camila! I really like your blog, thanks so much for posting on these things, it's really helpful. I only support cruelty-free products as well. What do you think about the PETA list and how do you think it compares to the Leaping Bunny list? Peta is much longer than Leaping Bunny's and I was wondering why. Do you know what the difference is between them, and if all the companies PETA lists are actually legitimately cruelty-free?

  8. Hello - both leaping bunnies (who actually audits the companies) and PETA have certified certain companies to be cruelty free that on your list are not (urban decay for one) why the difference?

  9. Hey Camila,

I absolutely adore your blog. I used your format to send companies of their cruelty free status. I wrote you an e-mail concerning one. I hope you read it. Thank you so much for being a fighter and you have my support 200%!
