❤︎Shopping My Makeup || Epi. 2

 Hello guys!

I'm so excited so many of you liked my last blog post. It's been awesome for me to put my products to use and I hope to keep this series going.

The other day I could not get my eyeshadow to look right! I didn't like the eyeshadows I was using and gave up. I wanted something really easy and reached for my elf Long Lasting Lustrous Eyeshadow in "soiree". I have not used this guy since the first week I hauled it. It's truly a shame because it's such a beautiful color. It's a truly glittery creamy eyeshadow. Be sure to use it with a primer or it will be crease city.

(Sorry about that random gap in the left).

AHHH! Just look at that color! I really love this eyeshadow!

I used elf's Eyebrow Kit in "medium" to fill in my brows. As you can tell I use it a lot. It is a bit on the warmer side but my hair is a little red so it works for me.

I used NYX's Eyeshadow Primer. (NYX is now owned by L'oreal and I do not buy from them anymore. I've had this primer before they were bought out).

I used Physicians Organic wear mascara. I like this mascara but it is on the drier side. It has been my experience that it dries quickly. I do like it a lot and have repurchased it.

For foundation I used elf's Flawless Finish Foundation in "sand" and elf's Acne Fighting Foundation in "sand". Weirdly enough the Acne Fighting Foundation in "sand" is wayyy too dark for me. I don't get it either! I used an equal ratio of both foundations to give myself a bit of a tan.

I used my Wet N Wild Bronzer in "Ticket to Brazil" as a blush/bronzer. As you can see it looks like a peachy (more on the orange side) on me. I would NOT recommend this bronzer for contouring. It is too shimmery to go on the contour, like you can see. I really like it because it livens up my skin tone and makes me look more bronzed. I have used this bronzer almost to the brim and I will be repurchasing it once it runs out. Also it smells like summer and sunscreen which I really LOVE.

Finally I used elf's Matte Lip Color in "Tea Rose". As you can tell I used a lot of elf products, I really like elf and I have a lot of their products apparently, lol.

I first put a bit of eos lip balm in "mint" because these matte lip colors are a bit on the dry side. The color is a lilac-pink. I used a sheer amount because if I apply it opaquely it almost looks like a concealer, at least on me.

Top: Praline
Botton: Tea Rose

I hope you liked this post and the look I came up with. I want your opinion. I don't like listing the prices of the products because, mainly,  I'm lazy but also because it's not hard to find them. Meanwhile, I want to please you guys. If you would like me to put the prices please let me know.
Lots of Love,
Camila

❤︎Shopping My Makeup Collection! ||

Hey guys!
I wanted to start a series on this blog all about putting to use the makeup I already have in my collection. Don't get me wrong, it's not like I have a huge collection. Yet, it's big enough that I don't really need more makeup right now. I don't want my blushes/eyeshadows/liners to go to waste. See, it's so easy (especially when you're in the beauty community) to feel the need to buy-buy-buy. At least that's how I feel sometimes. I want to use the makeup I already have to come up with new and exciting looks. This is the look I have for you today. (Ironically, it's not really new and exciting). This is something I would wear on a daily basis.

I hope you enjoy this new series!
I had lots of fun coming up with it!

Left to Right: elf Flawless Finish Foundation in "sand", LA Girl Pro. Conceal HD-"Pure Beige", & Wet N Wild Eyeshadow Primer

I have a review on this elf foundation. It's my favorite foundation! I have to be completely honest though. See, I shot the pictures of the products I planned to use the day before I actually used them. When I went to apply them, I forgot I had planned to use this elf foundation. In the picture I have an NYX foundation. (Which, I got before they were bought out!)

I got the concealer a few weeks ago. I have to say I REALLY like it! I use it to cover discoloration and pimples. (LA Girl is on PETA's list).

The primer I've had forever! It's awesome! I don't think I've really talked about it, which is a shame. It will make everything last all day! You need the least bit and you need to blend it really well or it will dry and look like clay. Which then becomes almost impossible to remove without ruining your makeup.

Above: elf Waterproof eyeliners in "blush" & purple"
Below: Pacifica Devocean Deeply Devoted Natural Lipstick in "tenderness"
&
EveryDay Minerals Blush in "All Smiles"

Left to right: "purple", "blush", "brown" & "black"

The eyeliners you see are the elf Waterproof shadow liners. In "blush" and "purple".
I used "blush" as a cream eyeshadow and as a base for "marzipan". It really helps "marzipan" standout.
I used "purple" as an eyeliner.

I LOVE my Chocolate Bar palette! I use it a lot but I can definitely use it more. As you can see in the picture above I used "marzipan" All over the lid.

I used a bit of "candied violet" over that elf Waterproof eyeliner in "purple".

I used a combination of "milk chocolate" & "cherry cordial" on the crease.

I then used "white chocolate" on the brow bone.

I used a combination of "triple fudge" and "semi-sweet: to fill in my eyebrows. "Triple fudge" is very cool toned where "semi-sweet" is a bit more reddish. My hair is a red-brown color so this combination works for me.

I used my Pacifica Devocean... Lipstick in "tenderness". I also got this in a Petit Vour Box. It's really awesome. It's not too shinny but does not dry out my lips. Plus the color is a perfect pink-nude on me. I have really been enjoying it!

Finally I used the EveryDay Minerals blush in "All Smiles". I talked more about this blush in my December Petit Vour  Box.

Well, that's it! I hope you liked the look I came up with. I hope this inspires you to use what you already have. I don't like being wasteful with my money and so I'm so excited to start this series. I'm sure it will be lots of fun.

Lots of Love,
Camila

The Authentic MakeUp Eraser Review & Cruelty-Free Status!

Hello Friends!
I wanted to share with you a product that has both wowed me and made my night time routine a breeze! I'm talking about the MakeUp Eraser!

I was sent this by the lovely Kim Wolf. She contacted me asking if I was interested in reviewing this product. I had not heard anything about it and didn't know anything about the company. Therefore, I asked her to provide for me information about the company's [MakeUp Eraser] cruelty-free status.

I used the template I always use when I email companies! Click here to check it out and feel free to use it. (Just use your name).

I received a reply:
1. Does your company test ingredients or/and finished products on animals? NO

2. Do you test ingredients or products on animals through a 3rd party? NO.  If your answer is no, how do you ensure that your manufacturers do not test?  Our product is manufactured in China through our specs and we do not test on animals nor did we ok testing on animals.

3. Do your manufacturers test ingredients or products on animals?  We are unaware of any testing.

4. Are you owned or affiliated with any companies that test products or ingredients on animals?  We are not affiliated with any other company.

5. Do you have a parent company? If so who are they?   No parent company.

6. Do you/your parent company currently or have plans to market and sell your products in the Chinese market, which requires animal testing by law to sell in that country? We do not currently sell to the Chinese market and have no current plan to do so.

7. Do you use palm oil/carnuaba wax in any of your products? If so, is it from an organic and sustainable source? We have no oils or wax in our product it is 100% polyester

8. Could you provide a list of all of your current vegan items available for purchase? The MakeUp Eraser cloth is our only product.

Please let me know if you would still like to try our MakeUp Eraser.  We not only don't allow testing on animals, but because it's a soft cloth that you just add warm water to...there are no soaps or chemicals to put into our rivers and streams.

I look forward to hearing from you!
Kind Regards,

Note: I always get this question: If a company manufactures in China does that mean they test on animals!? The simple answer is no. However, check out Logical Harmony's post for far more details!

As you can see by the reply I received the Makeup Eraser is cruelty-free! Yay!

The Review:

Before you use it you need to wash it. Once you've washed it make sure to rinse any excess water. You want the cloth to be damp but NOT wet. I find it works best when it's damp.
One side has longer fibers and the other has shorter fibers. Use the side with the short fibers to remove your makeup and the long fibers side to exfoliate.

I have very few "bad" things to say about this product. It is awesome! I am so impressed I want to get one for all the ladies in my life. Especially my mom because she is infamous for "forgetting" to take her makeup off at night. It drives me crazy!

Around the time I was sent this I was starting finals week! AHHH! Needless to say, I didn't have time for anything and at night I was beyond exhausted. Prior to using the Makeup Eraser I used my Mineral Fusion makeup remover. I still LOVE this makeup remover but to quickly remove your makeup the MakeUp Eraser wins!

I was wearing very little makeup during finals week. I'm talking about foundation, eyeshadow and mascara. It got that off easily. On the weekends and after finals I wore more makeup. I'm talking about eyeliner and purple and bronzy shadows. It also got that off easily! That's when I really became super impressed!

It's suppose to remove water proof mascara and eyeliner, however I do not use waterproof mascara or eyeliner so I can't say if it works for that.

I've had it for a month now and it seems to work better with use.

I really am not being paid to say all of this. The only benefit I got was being able to test something for free. I really love this product and can't see myself using anything else.

Cons:
Upon the first two or so uses I had a few fussy balls of pink fiber on my face. It wasn't super annoying, but definitely a bit weird.

It does not stain, meaning I was able to remove the mascara and foundation off the cloth, but you do need to wash it very well! Put a bit of elbow grease into it.

I worried about the hygienic side of this cloth. Be sure to wash it well and give it a deep wash at least twice a week. I mean using tea tree soap and other bacteria killing soap safe for your face.

If you would like to try the Makeup Eraser check out Authentic MakeUp Eraser. It retails for only $19.97! You will be buying if from Kim Wolf (she's a distributor) who reached out to me. I would really appreciate if you support her! She's super sweet and also a fellow cruelty-free makeup lover!

I hope you enjoyed this review! I love finding innovative products and sharing them with you guys!

Lots of Love,
Camila

Benedict Cumberbatch and Why the Absence?

Hey guys.

I don't know if you've noticed but I have not been posting...like at all. I had been doing pretty good this summer (minus the whole not finishing the 30 Day Challenge) but before I tell you the reason (nothing serious) let's talk about Benedict Cumberbatch.

I promise I'm not using this picture to lure you into reading this post, which I'm sure will lure many either way, this (these) pictures are just for your benefit. (Yeah and mine).

I first saw his perfect face when I decided to start watching Sherlock on Netflix! May I just add that Sherlock is a GREAT show but Benedict makes it about 150% times better. I just hate that you have to wait 900000 years between seasons. Come on really??? If you haven't watched it I suggest you give it a chance.

He is my #mcm! all day evrrryyday!

I'm not the type of girl that has many celebrity crushes. I can count the ones I've had in my life on one hand. So trust me this random seemingly obsession is weird for me.

Now to why I haven't been posting.

It's nothing sad or dramatic.

1. I haven't been shopping lately. I have experienced some tough economic times this summer. Makeup is expensive as it is and Cruelty-Free makeup is even more EXPENSIVE. I just had to make the decision to put my money (or lack thereof) towards other things.

2. I don't want to write a post if my heart isn't in it or just to have something to post. Not all of my articles will be Shakespeare worthy but hopefully I will have had fun writing them. Like this post, it's not very exciting but I have enjoyed writing it.

I don't plan to be inconsistent with my blog posts, but if I feel like I need to take time off to redirect my mind I will.

I'm not sharing this for sympathy or anything like that. I just feel like I'd rather give an explanation to my absence rather than just post any old random thing.

Finally, thank you all for your wonderful support and lovely emails and/or Facebook messages. I can't believe I have 308 likes on FB and 130 Bloglovin'! It's amazing and humbling to me! Hopefully, I will post some YouTube videos! That's something I've been wanting to tackle.

Lots of Love,
Camila

Mineral FUSION Makeup Remover || Review with BEFORE and AFTER Pictures

Hey guys.
If you follow me on Facebook. You'll know that I promised you a review of the BEST makeup remover! Sorry that it took me a while to get this up. I've had technical difficulties! Anyways!!

I'm talking about Mineral Fusion's makeup remover. I was walking around Sprouts the other day and saw it on sale and couldn't help myself. If you've never heard of Sprout's it's a health-food store. They also have a vitamin and beauty section which has a lot of natural and cruelty-free brands. Granted, the brands are more expensive but I really do think they're worth it.

Online it retails for $10.99, for 3.4 oz. Some awesome facts about this product. It is hypo-allergenic and paraben free. I don't have sensitive skin but I am all for anything that is safer and more gentle on my skin, especially something that I will use daily on my face.

It's a clear gel. It has no particular scent, the only scent I detect is quite clean.

I've had it for about two weeks and I've used barely any of this product. You literally need the smallest amount. I used a small blob for each eye and a little more for the rest of my face.

I apply a small dot to a slightly damp cotton pad. If I happen to have use a lot of dark shadow I will hold it against my eye for a couple of seconds more, if not I don't really need to hold it against my eye too long. It's soo easy to get even that darkest eyeliner off! You don't have to rub your eye or pull at your skin. It's an awesome product.

I have a review of derma e's makeup remover (which I also love!) However, I have to say I prefer this one. For one, I don't have to use as much and I also don't have to hold the product against my eye to get the best results. They are both awesome makeup removers. However, if I was forced to choose, I would go with this one. You do get 3.4 fl oz with Mineral Fusion whereas you get 4 fl oz with derma e's. However, derma e's makeup remover retails for around $12.00.

I really love this makeup remover and will be repurchasing it a lot in the future. I have been using it everyday since I got it. I recommend all of you give it a chance. If you do please let me know how you like it.
** I was not sent this product. I bought it with my own money. This is an honest review.

Here I have black eyeliner in my upper lid and lower lid.
I also have a thick (clumpy) mascara. I have five eye shadows. Under two primers. I also have eye shadow on my lower lash line.

I did have a a lot of makeup to remove. I used two small blobs for each eye to get all the makeup off. I would go back and use a bit more. It was really easy to remove.

NYX Above and Beyond Full Coverage Concealer | Review

Hey guys. So I picked this guy up sometime in January. Needless to say, I've had a good amount of time to play with it and decided I wanted to share my thoughts. It's the NYX Full Coverage Concealer in Beige. It retails for $4.99 at Ulta. (Which is where I bought mine.)

NYX has an awesome color selection. So I'm sure you'd be able to find a shade that will work with your complexion.

Packaging:
I like the packaging, it's compact and slick. It's quite small and easy to fit into small corners. It's be great for traveling! No complaints there.

Texture:
Very creamy, easy to blend. Does not feel greasy on the skin. Once, it's blended it becomes significantly drier.

Coverage:
I think you can definitely get a good medium coverage with the concealer. It covers redness well, and the color is almost my same skin-tone. However, I noticed that when I tried to use it as a full-coverage concealer it became quite cake-y looking. If you notice in the packaging it claims to be 'crease -free'? Humm, not sure about that one....

Also, it magnified the pores around my cheeks and nose, which is not cute. Note: I did not use a primer with it. So I don't know how it would wear with a primer. I don't use face-primer.
I noticed it creasing, quite significantly, around my eyes. Even, after I set it with powder.

Did it break you out?:
Yes! Unfortunately. I would usually just try to work with a product that I didn't love, but in this case I hardly see myself using this one. Maybe, on my legs (I do bruise like crazy). I don't feel too bad, it was $4.99. So yes, beware. Especially if you're one who has sensitive skin, when it comes acne.

Overall:
I will not be purchasing this one again. I will however, try more of NYX face stuff.

*I bought this product with my own money. I am not being paid to review it. However, if NYX wanted to send me a few of their stuff to review, I wouldn't mind. ;)

I hope this was helpful. Do you own this product? Do you disagree with me, yes or no? I would love to read any feedback you have! What is your fav. CF concealer?

Lots of Love,
Camila

♥ derma e : Evenly Radiant Makeup Remover | Review

Hey guys! Today I wanted to review the derma e : Evenly Radiant Makeup Remover. I gave you a peak of my opinion of this product in my Skin Care Tool Kit post.

However, I received a comment from the beautiful Shawna Del Real  (BTW she makes YT videos & they are soo amazing, so check her out) explaining to me a more effective method of using this product.
I took her advice & sure enough she was 100% right!

♥ My Routine:
I prep my eye with luke warm water, just to get the makeup moving. Then I go ahead with my cotton pad and apply makeup a teaspoon amount of this product. I hold it against my eye for 10-seconds (maybe less). I gently scrub and BAM! it's gone. I repeat this with my other eye. Finally, I apply a pea sized amount to remove my foundation & face makeup.

I'm so shocked at how this technique has changed how I feel about this product! I use less of it and it removes more of the gunk.

I've also used it on the delicate lower lash line of my eyes and it does not irritate them at all.
It does not cause me to break out; however I do not have sensitive skin.
Meanwhile, they do use some of the best ingredients out there (as you can see from the picture below). For a list of the ingredients click here.

I'm so glad I gave this product a second chance & will continue to purchase it! It is kinda on the more pricey side of the spectrum, retailing at $12.75 for 4 oz. I was lucky to pick it up (Ulta was having a sale ) for $6.00ish dollars. If you know where to find this product for a more budget-college-student-with-a-minimum-wage job-friendly price PLEASE let us (me) know. Haha. ;)

If you have recommendations of other derma e products please let me know.
I am currently using their Vitamin E Severely Dry Skin Creme & am liking :)

Lots of Love,
Camila

*disclaimer: This product was not sent to me. I bought it with my own money. If derma e wants to sent me products to review, I'd be more than happy to accept them. I pride myself in giving an honest opinion. :)
