Woot Woot, Hoot Hoot |:||:| A Makeup Haul

Hey guys! This is a collective haul from the past month! Hope you enjoy!

1)Physicians Formula : Happy Booster in "Bronze/Natural"
I got this guy almost a month or so ago. I got it on sale at Burlington, so if you are at a Burlington check out their beauty-section! I'm not overly impressed. I think this is great if you want to apply something really quickly without thinking about it much -- say you have two minutes to get your foundation, mascara, and blush/bronzer on. It's not very pigments, but I think those of you who don't like overly pigmented blushes might like it. As for me, I won't be picking up another PF blush from the Happy Booster Line because I think my elf and wet n' wild blushes are way better and cheaper.

2) elf Translucent Matifying Powder
I really like this powder. I have oily skin and this really mattifies! I will say that if you over apply it, it will make your skin look a bit dry. So use it sparingly. You will need to reapply at least once a day. I have 19-21 hour days and spend about 10 hours at school and I find reapplying once a day does the trick.
BTW: Sorry for the blurry picture! & FYI: It did come slightly cracked, but I have a feeling I just got a bad one because I've never had issues with elf blushes cracking.

I got it at Target for $3.00!

3) Physicians Formula : Organic Wear Mascara in "Ultra Black"
I've used this mascara before and I liked it. I'm glad I decided to repurchase it because, I REALLY enjoy it. It's not super dry or wet, it's in-between. Also, it doesn't dry super fast which lets me add more coats without it getting clumpy. It's truly super or ultra black. It seems to do it all volumize, lengthen, and darkens. As far as holding a curl, my lashes are naturally curled and so I can't really say. It doesn't seem to weigh them down.
It retails for $9.99ish dollars at CVS, RiteAid, Walgreens.

4) elf 3-in-1 Mascara: Lengthens, Define, & Volumize
I don't like this mascara. It gets clumpy really quickly. It makes me look like I have two eyelashes, it does not separate well.  It is also weirdly difficult to remove. I use my favorite makeup remover, and it does a great job, but still have to use a little more product than I usually use. I wish I liked it more.

I got it at Target for $3.00.

5) wet n' wild: megalast  690A "blackest black"
I have a lot of NYX liners and have started looking for alternatives. I tested this guy a lot and came to the conclusion that I do like it if I use it on my upper lash line and/or to smoke out the lower lash line.  BTW: it's a roller pencil that you don't have to sharpen. I like using to define my lash line, to make my lashes look thicker. It would make a great base for a smokey look. However, I did use it in the water line and didn't like it there as much. It didn't last was much. Give it a try!
I got it from Target for $2.99.

6) wet n' wild: Mega Liner :: Liquid Liner
I have repurchased this guy multiple times and have never been disappointed. I think it's a great liquid liner and dries matte. It lasts great and if you use primer, it will last even longer. I think the brush is really easy to use. If you have not, give it a try!
I also got it from Target, think it was $3.99.

7) Jordana's : sweet n' smooth :: nourishing lip balm
I LOVE LOVE these. They have the an awesome color selection and the pigmentation is amazing, I wasn't expecting them to be was vibrant. They really moisturize your lips without feeling heavy or greasy -- which I can't stand! I want to get them all!! Hahah! Give them a try. I wish I had discovered them earlier this summer! Also, they smell like watermelon. One con, they don't have the greatest taste.
Each were $1.99. I got them at an Asian/dollar store.

What's in my Bag? || 30 Day Challenge :)

Hey guys! I'm back with the 30 Day Challenge. I'm excited to be back. I have very much failed this challenge but I really want to continue with it. I like all the questions!

I'm sorry for the lack of content lately. I've had some life things pop-up recently. Nothing bad I'm lucky that it's all good news but it's also very stressful.

So here's "Day 9", What's in Your Bag/Wallet.

***I do have some non-CF things. They are all things I got before I went CF or gifts.  I thought of not sharing said things but I have nothing to hide. I just want to be real with you guys.

I got this bag in a store called dd's discount. It's a store very much like a Ross or a Marshalls.
I think it was under $15.00 bucks.
I think it's very much perfect for summer!

As you can tell I use this bag A LOT.

It's SUCH a sunny day today! I really wanted to take the pictures outside!

These are the main things inside my bag.
1. I have a makeup bag from Victoria Secret. Yes, VS is not cruelty-free. I got it as a gift from my grandma.

2. The little purple bag with flowers was a gift from my dad's cousin who lives in Colombia.
It's from a brand called "Raquira".

3. The sunnies are Ray-Ban styled from Hello Kitty.

3. I don't usually carry a book, I have it because I was in LA yesterday. I took the train and I thought I'd be fun to start a new book on the journey.
The book is Love the One You're With by Emily Giffin.
As it turns out I didn't start it. LOL

4. The wallet is actually my mom's. I "borrowed" it. LOL. I can't find a specific brand on it.

In the VS bag. I have:
1. My NYX Face Powder :( It makes me so sad looking at it.
2. A Milani & Jordana lipstick.
3. The Real Techniques Contour Brush. I love it for powder application.
4. A Gospel Track!
5. A Nail File
6. My Key. That's right not Keys. KEY!
7. Eye phones
8. a random non-CF lipgloss.
9. Flash Cards
10. A flower pin

Inside this little bag I try to keep all my lipsticks. It's definitely too small for the job, but I don't mind.
I have a lot of elf lippies. I do have one from Revlon. I got it before I went CF.

Here are swatches of all the lippies I found in my bag. At least the ones that are Cruelty-Free.

I really like this wallet. It's very simple. I think it's elegant.

Here are the mountain of cards I have. I have my credit cards, my member cards, etc. Also, my ID. lol. My Face.

Here is where I store my imaginary money. JK. I had some coins in here but they all went flying inside my purse. UGH!!!!

Here's the book I was telling you about.

Here are things I found flying inside my bag.
I have a few packets of honey.
A band aid from Despicable Me which my sister gave me.
A pen and a pencil.
Some eyedrops.
A Yogurtland gift card.
Some swabs.
Some bobby-pins.
& a Flash Drive.
A lotion from Bath ad Body Works which again I got as a gift.

I hope you enjoyed this post. It's nothing very glamorous but it's what I carry around in there! lol I also later found a Taco Bell green sauce! It's actually really good!

Lots of Love,
Camila

NYX Bought by L'Oreal || My Advice of How To Deal with This News ||

Hey guys. I've been absolutely DREADING having to write this post.

I'm tempted to run from the very comfortable couch I'm sitting on, I really don't want to talk or write about this situation.

If you want to read the full story click on the links. I won't be going into too much details on this post.

L'Oreal is very much infamous for their continued use of animal testing on cosmetics. They also sell in China. I do not support any company L'Oreal owns. When Urban Decay was acquired by L'Oreal in November 2012 I was absolutely disgusted and today I feel the same way.

My Advice:

I have many NYX eyeliners, foundations, lipsticks, and other stuff that I really love. While I will not be supporting NYX anymore I will not be throwing all my stuff away. I will use them up and I will be looking for other products (which I know are out there) that will work just as well or even better. Before I went CF I had a handful of Revlon lipsticks which I loved. I was not about to throw them away and I'm glad I didn't. First, I can still wear them and I do not want waste my well earned money. Second, I have them to compare to other brands. I have found just as good and in many cases even better products made by companies that are ethical (i.e. elf, Milani, Wet n' Wild, etc). Of course, the way to proceed is up to you.

This is a very upsetting time in the cruelty-free-beauty community but we will get through this. I always like to think of the awesome indie and smaller companies that now have an opportunity to shine. Let's look at this as a time to find another company to shower with love.

I hope you found something to take away from this post.

Lots of Love,
Camila

Milani || Lipsticks Swatches and Review

Hey guys.
The other day I was in Walgreens and noticed they had a nice sale going for Milani products. I've always been intrigued by their lipsticks and decided to pick up two very opposite of the spectrum colors.
One is a beautiful pink cream nude and the other is a dark purple vampy matte.

Naturally Chic

Can you tell by I was very inclined to pick this shade up? I love the name. Also, I don't have have a nude color that is soft like this one. By soft I mean very subtle. I do have an NYX lippie in Cocoa but that one is very pigmented and if  I want to wear it like a nude I need to sheer it out.
Meanwhile, If I wanted too I could build up the color to get a much richer pigment. As you can tell this is a cream finish lippie and I love it. It's not so creamy that it almost looks like it could double as a lip gloss. It does make my lips feel nice and moisturized.
This particular day, my lips were really dry. In this picture you can't tell at all.
It's a wonderful color and a lovely formulation.
It has a fruity-sweet scent.

Sangria

Now this lipstick is almost a complete 180 of NaturallyChic. You can tell that it's a matte finish (as it gives off no shine). Which is fine, I love matte lipsticks.
However, this lipstick is soo patchy. It make the dry parts of my lips stand out. Also, if I try to build up the color, some of the color I had already applied rubs off. Does that make sense?
It's definitely not the most dry matte lipstick I've tried, but the application is so awful that it doesn't matter.
I mean it could be that I got the odd one out, maybe from a bad batch. Meanwhile, I'm not in love with this guy. I do love the color.
It also has a fruity-sweet scent.

Left: Sangria Right: Naturally Chic

I am 50 % and 50 % with this line of lipsticks. Granted, I have two of the dozens of shades that are out. I feel it would be unfair, especially as I LOVE NaturallyChic, to say I would not recommend these lipsticks. I will be purchasing more shades to get a real feel for them.

If you have tried more of Milani's array of lippies let me know how you feel about them!! I would really love some shade suggestions!

Lots of Love,
Camila

You can kind of tell in this picture what I mean by it (Sangria) being patchy.

** I was not sent or paid to review these lipsticks. I bought them with my own money and this review is honest and only of my experience.

Snatch-It-Up Sunday :: Flower Beauty || Extreme Measures: Lengthening Mascara

Hey guys. I wanted to share one of the greatest purchases I've made this month :
Flower Beauty's Extreme Measures|| Lengthening Mascara.
I honestly haven't found the best inexpensive, cruelty-free mascaras. Not that I haven't used some great ones. (Mainly from NYX). I just find that among non-cruelty-free brands there is a bigger array of "good" mascara to choose from (mainly from my drug-store). I've tried many of Wet N'Wild's mascaras and did not like them. Also, Milani and Jordana they were too wet.
(Who wants a cruelty-free mascara post/video?)

This is the first Flower Beauty product I've purchased. I spend at least 10 minutes every time I go to Wal-Mart gawking at their stuff. I always pass them up (a) I have enough lip-stick (b) I have too many shadow palettes (c) don't know what foundation shade suits me best. I caved and am so glad I did. (It was about time).

I really like the formula. With the first application I was scared it was too wet. Though, it is a "wetter" formula mascara, I find if I leave enough time between applications I got a beautiful length and separation. I don't recommend more than three applications, at least that was the limit on me.  (Meanwhile, the key is leaving enough time between applications! So keep that in mind! )

If you will notice by the picture below (sorry for the terrible quality, yikes!) the brush is shaped like an hourglass figure. I truly believe the shape of the mascara helps get the perfect application. My thin (almost invisible) inner corner lashes get coated with the rest of them.

Flower Beauty claims to have high-end products for affordable prices and I really felt this mascara was very luxurious-feeling, from the tube, the picture doesn't do it justice. It's a grey-metallic-y, almost reflective tube. Also, it simply says "FLOWER Extreme Measures: Lengthening Mascara" on it. I love the minimalist packaging

Be sure to give this mascara a chance next time you're at Wal-Mart. I found it's the perfect lengthening mascara and gives you good volume.

**I bought this with my own money.

Lots of Love,
Camila

Getting to Know Me :: TAG

I've been tagged guys! The beautiful and talented Aimee from Aimee Belle (be sure to check her out) has tagged me!

I don't usually do these kinds of blog-posts, but I had so much fun answering these questions I want to do more!!! Let me know if you like them! \

I apologize ahead of time for any spelling and or grammar errors. There's a reason I'm a biochemistry major! Yikes!!

Question 1: Flats or Heels?:
I really like heels. I like how they look (just the shoe) and how they make your legs look. For some reason (at least this is my experience) your posture improves and they almost give you a butt-lift. (Is that even a thing?) Meanwhile, I wear flats (sandals & boots) 99.95% of the time. I will RARELY wear heels. They are impractically for my lifestyle.

Question 2 : What's Your Fave Nail Polish Brand?:

I really like Zoya polishes. Meanwhile, I have more Wet N' Wild polishes. I think the Mega Last ones (the ones that are $1.99) are great.

Question 3: Top 5 Movies Of All Time?:

1. Pride and Prejudice
2. You've Got Mail
3. Tangled/Frozen (I cannot choose one!)
4. Despicable Me
5.Hungers Games Movies

Question 4 : Fave Male and Female Singer?:
Yikes! I haven't been into any particular band/musician as of late. In High School I loved Nirvana. I don't think I have a favorite female singer.

Question 5 : If You Could Take Only 3 Make Up Products To a Desert Island what would they be?:
1. Sunblock (100 SPF if possible),
2.Red Lipstick
3.Chocolate Bar Palette
4.Tweezers
5.Deoderant (I can imagine living on an island would make you very smelly.)
(Meanwhile, if I was alone would I really care about stinking? I could continue in this stream of consciousness).

( I just realized, editing this, that we could only choose 3 products. Woops!!!)

Question 6 : What's Your Fave Disney Movie?:

Tangled/Frozen

Question 7 : What's your Fave High End Make Up Brand?:

I will quote Aimee "I'm poor!" That's how I feel about this question. I do love Too-Faced. (Please, Too-Faced people, if you read this because why wouldn't you, don't sell out like tarte).

Question 8 : What's your Fave Drug Store Make Up Brand?:

Wet N' Wild. I have so many of they're products. I don't like they're foundation/powder selection, meanwhile they're shadows are the best in my opinion.

Question 9 : Describe yourself in 5 words?:

Easily Amused, Forgiven, Weird, Daydreamer, Extremely-Empathetic
Question 10 : Shower or Bubblebath?:

I LOVE taking bubble-baths. I usually go for a shower. Unless, I find time.

Question 11 : Which 3 Products are on your Wishlist that you would love to try?:
1. Flower Beauty's BB Crème
2.NYX HD Concealer
3. Too-Faced Brow Envy Kit
4. Lush  (any, I haven't had the joy of buying many Lush products). *first world problems*
5.Love and Toast's perfumes
( I just realized, editing this, that we could only choose 3 products. Woops!!!)

Question 12 : What's your Fave body cream?:
I like using coconut oil for my body.

Question 13 : Who Is your Fave Actress and Actor?:
I love Keira Knightly. Also, there is something about Paul Rudd. I don't love all his movies, but I think he's so cute.

Question 14 :Your no1 Female Role Model and Why?:
My mom. She is just such a special person. She has thought me about God, about overcoming tribulations, and about fighting for those you love. She works so hard to provide me and my sister with everything. I wish to one day 50% of the kind of mom she is.

Question 15 :Who Are Your Top 5 Fashion/Glamour Icons?:
I honestly don't look to one person for inspiration. If I did have to name one person, it'd be Zooey Deschanel. Meanwhile, I take inspiration from instagram OOTD and people on the streets. (By that I mean, my fellow classmates).

Question 16 :What's your Fave Chocolate?:
Milk. In terms of candy bar. I'd have to give the award to M&Ms. I love the Pretzel and have discovered the deliciousness of the peanut-butter ones.

Question 17 : Do you wear Fake Tan?, If So, what's your Fave Brand?:
No. I live in Sunny Southern California (as Shay Carl would say) and I have an olive complexion. I tan so fast it's ridiculous.

Question 18 : What's your Fave TV programme at the moment?:
Yikes! I don't really watch TV. I watch so many vlogs. (ShayTards, TheNiveNulls, AprilJustinTV, It'sJudysLife...CullenandKatie....I just discovered TribeTyler)

Question 19 : What's your Fave Shampoo & Conditioner range?:

I don't use a CF brand. So I don't want to "advertise" the brand I do use. If you have a cheap CF option, let me know.

Question 20 :What's your Fave Deodrant?:
All the CF ones I have tried are terrible. Please, leave me recommendations!
Now it's my turn!! I tag:

Sarah from BeautyBunnyLove
Also, anyone who wants to do this tag! I tag you!!! & if you do end up answering these questions, leave me a link so I can read them!!!

Lots of Love,
Camila

Snatch-it-Up Sunday :: NYX Lip Smacking Fun Colors || Cocoa

Hey guys! A week or so ago, I noticed the lack of neutral lip sticks in my collection. I have more reds than I need, lots of plumy-vampy ones, and a few pinks. I really wanted something that would be a bit darker than the natural tint of my lips. Meanwhile, I didn't want something super basic, I still wanted something with an edge, keeping with the vampy theme.

I love NYX lip sticks. They are so smooth and they have lots of color selection. I'm sure you guys feel the same! If NYX does one thing the best, I'd definitely say it's their lippies.

I instantly fell in love with the shade 'cocoa'. I was swooned!!! It's a very-dark muave brownish color with a tint of plum. I just think it's gorgeous!! It's not a matte, it's very much a creme formula. If you like glossy lips you'd like this. Meanwhile, if you're into mattes, you'll probably think it's too glossy.

You can apply it opaque-ly or sheer it out. I love the look it gives (my lips in particular) when sheered out. It's very natural. I feel like a flower-child when I wear it. Yes!!!

Also, it's not a Kardashian-nude kind of look. (Which I'm not a fan of). It's not bright, yet gives your complexion pick-me-up.

I wanted to share how it looks on! However, Sundays are no-makeup Sundays for me. I'll be sharing some selfies later this week! So follow me on instagram if you're interested!!!

Lots of Love,
Camila

Snatch-It-Up Sunday || NYX's stay matte but not flat powder

Hey guys!

So I decided to feature NYX's stay matte but not flat powder foundation for this week.

I think this powder is awesome but sadly, it does not get mentioned much among the beauty community. If you are new to cruelty-free makeup, I know how hard it is to find inexpensive powders at the drug-store. Granted this powder does retail for $9.99 at Ulta, so it's definitely higher up there, but trust me it's worth it. Please, save yourself some grieve and give this powder a try!

It gives your skin a skin like look. Yes, your skin looks matte but not dry. (As the name suggests). I don't know how to explain it better than that. Also, it will maintain that freshly applied look for a good five hours. I run around a lot through the day, but I find that I only have to re-apply once a day; on particularly hot days maybe twice. You might be able to wear it longer! Consider your skin-type.

While mattefying your skin, it will give you extra coverage. Some might find you can get away with just this powder. Meanwhile, if you are like me and want those spots to be concealed, you will appreciate the extra coverage. Don't use a heavy hand if you have applied liquid foundation, as you might get a cake-y look. Definitely do not use the sponge it comes with! Use a powder brush. I think the Real Techniques Buffer Brush is best for foundation-powders. Use a brush with more compact bristles. It gives you the perfect look.

The reason I realized how much I loved this powder this week, was because I  ran out (I still have a bit to use up) and got a new one. When you re-purchase a beauty product you know you like it. I did get a lighter shade the one I had before worked for me, but was a tiny-bite too dark. Be sure to get your correction shade! That's the good thing about Ulta, they have testers.

I hope you found this post informative or at least fun to read! I wish you a wonderful week! I'm going back to the grind of life, my Spring Break week is over! Oh well!

Lots of Love,
Camila

*I bought this with my own money. But if NYX decided to send me stuff to try, I would not mind! ;)

NYX Above and Beyond Full Coverage Concealer | Review

Hey guys. So I picked this guy up sometime in January. Needless to say, I've had a good amount of time to play with it and decided I wanted to share my thoughts. It's the NYX Full Coverage Concealer in Beige. It retails for $4.99 at Ulta. (Which is where I bought mine.)

NYX has an awesome color selection. So I'm sure you'd be able to find a shade that will work with your complexion.

Packaging:
I like the packaging, it's compact and slick. It's quite small and easy to fit into small corners. It's be great for traveling! No complaints there.

Texture:
Very creamy, easy to blend. Does not feel greasy on the skin. Once, it's blended it becomes significantly drier.

Coverage:
I think you can definitely get a good medium coverage with the concealer. It covers redness well, and the color is almost my same skin-tone. However, I noticed that when I tried to use it as a full-coverage concealer it became quite cake-y looking. If you notice in the packaging it claims to be 'crease -free'? Humm, not sure about that one....

Also, it magnified the pores around my cheeks and nose, which is not cute. Note: I did not use a primer with it. So I don't know how it would wear with a primer. I don't use face-primer.
I noticed it creasing, quite significantly, around my eyes. Even, after I set it with powder.

Did it break you out?:
Yes! Unfortunately. I would usually just try to work with a product that I didn't love, but in this case I hardly see myself using this one. Maybe, on my legs (I do bruise like crazy). I don't feel too bad, it was $4.99. So yes, beware. Especially if you're one who has sensitive skin, when it comes acne.

Overall:
I will not be purchasing this one again. I will however, try more of NYX face stuff.

*I bought this product with my own money. I am not being paid to review it. However, if NYX wanted to send me a few of their stuff to review, I wouldn't mind. ;)

I hope this was helpful. Do you own this product? Do you disagree with me, yes or no? I would love to read any feedback you have! What is your fav. CF concealer?

Lots of Love,
Camila

January Wish List |

Hey guys!

I love reading Wish List posts, so I thought I'd be fun to share what I'm been wanting this month.
It looks wonderful! I've seen a couple of reviews & it's being raved about. I love my neutral shadows & this would be a great addition to my collection. Those of you who've picked it up, does it smell like chocolate?

Specifically these three: (L to R) 'Deep Burgendy', 'Blue Violet', & 'Coral-Red'!
I swatched them at Ulta & I was throughly impressed.

I actually lost the one I had! I'm so sad! :( I love this, I actually did a review of a bunch of Emani stuff a while ago. My sister and mom always ask to borrow it, so they miss it too.

Left to Right: 'Blush Brush', "Miracle Complexion Sponge' & 'Stippling Brush'
I have the 'starter kit' and the 'core collection'. These brushes are vegan and cruelty-free & AMAZING!!! I use them everyday & I really want to expand my collection.

I have this same dress, so I'm not sure it exactly counts as a wish item, but I do LOVE it. I want to pick up the same one in navy. It's only $8.80!

Ahhh boots! I'm definitely a boot kind of girl. I saw these and fell in love. I think it's a fun pair of shoes, because you can then play around with your socks and make them part of your outfit.

I love wearing tights with my dresses! Especially during the cooler months. (I'd still wear this during summer though, shhh!) I thought these were super fun!

I remember watching this movie a few months after it came out. I didn't really think much of it at the time. This past December it was on on DisneyChannel and I watched it again and BECAME OBSESSED! I watched it everyday during finals week & It got me through. I love it & need to own it :D

Well, that's pretty much it! I've been really wanting all of these things for months now. Maybe next month I'll own a few of them ;) Let me know what you've been wishing for this month!

Lots of Love,
                                                                   Camila

small NYX Haul | Cruelty Free

I went to Ulta a couple of days ago. I thought I'd share what I picked up. I will have a more indepth review later, once I'd had more time to form an opinion.

1. NYX stay matte but not flat:
Heard awesome things about this one. I've used it once so far & I'm impressed with the coverage.

2. NYX slide on, glide, stay on & definitely a turn on water proof, extreme shine eye liner
WOAH! A mouth full of a name! I got the color in 'jet black'. I have the one in 'golden olive' & absoultey LOVE that one. I have high hopes of this one! I like it so far (keep in mind, I've only used it once, well this color.)

 3. NYX badunkadunk lush lashes mascara:
I think the packaging is : SEXY! I love it & will admit it was partly the reason I picked it up. Again, I barely got this stuff a few days ago and have only used it twice. I really like it so far ;)

I wanted to keep this short & quick. I hope you enjoyed it & tell me if you've used any of these products :D

Lots of Love,
Camila
